An Attic Studio in Stockholm
In a 495-square-foot attic in the Söder neighborhood of Stockholm, interior designer Jimmy Schonning—a local celebrity for his role in the Swedish TV shows “Finally at Home” and “Styling Emergency”—has carved out a sweet and stylish home. His diminutive studio is chockablock with creative storage solutions (built-in closets; a washer and drier hidden under a workbench in the bathroom) and loads of personality. Ex Police Department in NY
This masterwork residence was built from soaring raw space within the former gymnasium of the original 1905 Beaux Arts Police Headquarters Building. It represents the vision and genius of the world renowned and acclaimed architect, the late Charles Gwathmey. This is the only apartment he ever designed from the ground up, and required over four years to complete. The landmarked Police Building has an opulent marble lobby with exquisite detail, 24-hour concierge and doorman, live-in resident manager, fitness center and common English Garden with fountain.
